Many energy companies offer rebates to homeowners when they replace their windows making their homes more energy efficient. Tacoma Power, PenLight, and Puget Sound Energy are offering their customers incentives to upgrade to higher-quality windows.

What are the requirements for eligibility in each program?
For Tacoma Power customers can participate if their home is electrically heated and was built before 1988. Tacoma Power will pay up to 1,000 when you replace your windows.
PenLight requires that pre-existing windows be single pane, single pane with storms, or double pane with metal frame. The replacement windows must have a National Fenestration Rating Council rated u-value of 0.30 or below and 0.35 or below for patio doors. You also must be pre-qualified. They will provide a rebate of $6 per square foot, up to $1,000.
Customers of Puget Sound Energy can save $5 per square foot up to $750 when they upgrade to energy efficient windows with a u-factor of 0.30 or below. Homes must be fully-insulated, and the project must be completed by a licensed contractor.
